Tata Steel announced a multi-million pound deal with Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) for the manufacture and supply of pipe in the Middle East. The contract is Tata Steel's largest ever in Iraq. Large-scale oil and gas projects, particularly brownfield, are beginning to receive significant investment in the country and our large presence in the region. It also indicates the current opportunities that are in the marketplace. The 16 inches in diameter pipe is designed and manufactured specifically for the transportation of dry gas. The project comes on the back of strong growth for Tata Steel in the Middle East. Having had 20 years of experience in the Middle East, Tata steel currently employs more than 30 people in the region and has its head office in Dubai with regional offices located in Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
